Problems with multi sheet link

Postby brecki » Tue Aug 10, 2010 12:14 pm

Hi,

first of all let me say that I am absolutely astonished about your BA. I just found it a few days ago on the internet and can still not believe, which possibilities this programme offers !

Now I am in the free subscription phase and want to try several things out, but I have problems with logging the multiple sheets quick link.

I have no excel open when starting the BA. I selected the UK Horse Racing Win and Place Markets to be open in the quick pick list seperatly for each venue, so f.e. today there are 4 locations and thats why 8 tabs open automatically. So far so good.

Next I go to Excel/Log multiple sheets quick link and press the "start logging" button at the bottom of the page. Excel opens automatically the requested Excel sheet , where 8 worksheets and one more for the results are included. Every of the 8 todays market is linked to a seperate worksheet.

The problem now is, that only the first worksheet updates, all other ones get no data.

I can not see any problem with the excel sheet as it is neither locked nor has any writing-protection.

When looking in the "View Excel Error log" section, I can see the following error :

System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException (0x800AC472): Ausnahme von HRESULT: 0x800AC472  bei Microsoft.VisualBasic.CompilerServices.LateBinding.InternalLateSet(Object o, Type& objType, String name, Object[] args, String[] paramnames, Boolean OptimisticSet, CallType UseCallType)

CAn you please help me to get the BA logging multiple sheets?

Thanks very much with best regards from Germany

Stefan

I just tried it with a totally new workbook, but the same problem appears. In sheet 1 everything is fine, in sheet 2-8 absolutely no data arrive, they are totally blank. So it must have something to do with the error that occurs in the view excel error section.

So I can replicate your exact setup can you email the settings file for Excel quick link to admin@gruss-software.co.uk

You will find the file in your documents folder and it is named BA_Excel_Workbooks.txt

That error message is normal it appears every now and again when Excel is too busy to respond. I need to see the settings file as per my previous post.

Hi Gary, I found it, but there is no need to send it to you as it is absolutely empty. I opened it, nothing to see. And Excel shows 0 KB.

May be I deleted important things without knowing? The file was build on August 8th and last changed today, one hour ago.

Shouldn't be empty. Did you fill the form in correctly? Here is a video demonstrating how it should be filled in http://www.gruss-software.co.uk/videos/ ... _Link.html
The example is only one win and one place market, but the principle is the same.

You also say that you only have one results worksheet. Each market must have it's own results worksheet. Note in the video there are two separate results sheets.

Hi Gary, I solved the problem by myself. Unbelievable but true, using Cell a3 instead of A3 caused the problem.

Thx !

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
