Catch 22

Postby Snowflame » Thu Aug 12, 2010 5:07 pm

When I wanted to change to the Grid I get a message saying that I cannot do this while there is Excel logging. I then try to stop Excel logging but then get a message telling me that I canot do this while on the Ladder display, change to the Grid. So I am now in a loop.

Any suggestions except restarting the program?

I am not sure how you got into that situation in the first place. You should not have been able to set up Excel logging while displaying the ladder interface as it's not supported. I will try and replicate this and get back to you. If you can recall how you did this it would help.

As this situation is not really allowed for I cannot suggest any other solution than restarting the program.

I was trying to setup the Betting School Auto Bot Excel sheet so that it would automatically monitor each race from the Quick Links. I created a second sheet ( Sheet2 ) which was a copy of Sheet1. I followed the video guide but it didn't work. Hope that helps?

I'm struggling to see how you ended up on the ladder interface if you were just trying to link to Excel. The ladder interface is not required for this. Also the Excel feature does work so I don't know what went wrong in your case. Have you got a link for this video so I can have a look?

Nowhere in that video do I select the ladder interface. Do you have the ability to record a video demonstrating the exact problem you are having? Alternatively can you list the exact steps you are taking, your description is too vague.

Sorry, I've got it now. You must have been trading on the ladder interface and then used the Excel quick link option. This is a bug, it should have displayed an error message informing you that you need to switch to the grid interface. Try it again, but this time make sure the grid is displayed before attempting to use this option.

"make sure the grid is displayed before attempting to use this option" that's what I have been doing since the problem occured.

Thanks for your help and patience.

I will have another bash at linking the Excel sheets. If I crack it I will let you know how is was done for future ref.

Yes, but because it's a bug you needed to close the program to be able to switch back to the grid. This problem can only occur if you select the quick link option when viewing the ladder interface. If you are already viewing the grid you should be ok.

I will release an update tomorrow to fix this bug. It will automatically switch to grid if you happen to select the option when the ladder is displayed.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
