Excel Problem

Postby horsesystemagic » Tue Aug 17, 2010 9:41 am

Hi All

I have a problem where I have set up to back or lay a selection 10 seconds before race off and the bet get taken. The problem is that my formula carry on analsying the race untill suspended and if market changes will add another bet. How can I write my formula to stop after a bet has been placed and not add any further bets and move on to the next race.

Thanks in Advance Shaune

Hi I have a master cell on my Excel sheet that shows 1 for bet conditions and 0 for no bet conditions. You can then write any number of "if" calculations that turn that master cell on or off. So a no bet could be that if(now) = race time plus ten seconds then it could switch off or perhaps more simply for you if cell e2 = "In Play" then make it a no bet condition. Personally I'd probably belt and braces it and have multiple ways of switching off -- the two above and probably one of the relevant T or F cells that showed that if a bet had been matched then no further bets would be placed (even before it went in play -- unless you would like to place multiple bets). You then make your trigger reference the master cell and bingo it will not place bets if any "no bet" condition exists. Hope that makes sense.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
