As many as your PC can handle. Most PC's should be able to handle around 30 markets easily and I've known users to have more than 50 open. The best way to find out is to try it and see.

i think it depends from the specifications of your pc & your activity mainly
there are few people here that run approx 20 pages at once if i remember correct
probably you should experiment to see where the limits are
