running BA two times on the same computer

Postby brecki » Fri Sep 17, 2010 2:18 pm

Hi,

I have two Betfair accounts and want to run the Betting Assistant for each of my accounts on the same computer. ( I need two subscriptions, I know).

1) is this possible or will there appear any problems concerning the connection to API and to Excel ?

2) what about the charges? are they calculated by account or by IP-Adress ? Will I have to set the throttle limit down on each BA Software or will a refresh in account 1 and account 2 at the same not be counted together ?

Thx.

Unfortunately yes. The 2 accounts will be counted together for the
transaction charge, the request charge and the premium charge.

Hi Brecki,

you will also have to set the throttle limit between instances of BA so as not
to exceed a TOTAL of 20 otherwise you may incur charges, even if they are
split between two separate Betfair accounts. Also I have often
run two instances of BA with Excel and found that they run pretty well together.

A word of caution - do not try to have two Betfair accounts and attempt to
hide the fact from them. They are fine if you are above board with this but
may well shut you down if you try anything to avoid charges. You would
also have to fund them from two differents sources btw.

Hope this is of some use to you? Ttfn - Michael :)

Thx for your help.

Now another question:

I want to open the BA two times. The first one runs with the Profile "Default" as I can see on the top of the BA page.

The second one runs with the Profile "Stefan1" as I can see on the top of the second BA.

I never set a Profile named "Default". These settings must be the settings that were automatically saved when I fixed my preferences at the time I only used one BA.

To use it two times I created the Profile "Stefan1". When I start the BA Software for the second time, I use my login data for my second Betfair account and choose the Profile "Stefan1".

That all works, but when I log multiple Sheets to Excel, then any change I make in the first BA is automatically copied to the second one. What I want is that the first BA is conected to Excelsheet 1,2 and 3 and that the second one is connected to Excelsheet 4,5 and 6.

So how can I log multiple Excel Sheets 1,2 and 3 to my first Betfair account running with Profile "Default" and Excel Sheets 4,5 and 6 to my second Betfair account Betfair account using Profile "Stefan1" ???

Are you using the Excel quick link feature? If so then the version you are using uses the same file to store the quick link settings. The latest Beta version uses separate files so you can try this version instead. Uninstall your current version and install version 1.1.0.66x17 from the link below.

No, but I will send you a PM shortly if you want to try it. I just need to change something first. I don't want too many people using this version as the tick offset and stop loss code have been completely re-coded and could contain bugs that I haven't found yet.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
