This is what is happening, refresh rate 0.2, two tabs open recording to a single sheet one linked to cell A10, the other to cell A40

[No changes have been made and has been running in this manner for months - release of the update which shared calls between tabs.]

I am very close to tracking the problem down. Can you uninstall and re-install from the following link and next time it happens can you post the Excel Link Activity Log again. I shall keep adding more information to this log until I find the problem.

Hopefully this means something to you?

[Only thing I noticed is that both seem to happen with about one minute to the off and seem to be not long after a bet is submitted, this could merely be coincidental however.]

Is there more to the log? It shows it was updated at 13:59:01, but the log only goes to 13:59:02. You wouldn't have noticed that quickly that it stopped updating? If there is more is there any chance you can post about 30 seconds of the log?

Sorry had tried to condense it. I believe it simply goes into a loop of

13:59:02:26: Requesting Excel refresh. Origin cell:A40
13:59:02:26: Excel not updated. Update thread is busy.

for hundreds of rows. However I have closed the second tab so wont be able to retreive it. I will try to recreate the situation this afternoon and upload a larger piece of the log.

Thanks for the time

Thanks. If it did just show those two events repeatedly then it could well be the bet placement that precedes the problem. I am looking into that possibility now.

Gary just an update, the past hour or so it has worked flawlessly which is strange as since I first reported the problem it has had a 100% fail rate.

Not sure if x19 has made a difference or if it is only an unusual scenario that 'clogs' the excel comm.

Will be back if I notice anything else.

[Hope I'm not getting in the way of the kids  - my problem can be turned off ]

I did find a problem which only affects the same market displayed in multiple tabs which could occur after bet placement. I'm not 100% sure it's the problem you were having though. Can you uninstall and install version 1.1.0.66x20 using the link below. Can you post the log if it happens again, I've added further detail.

I have been running x20 all day today and has worked perfectly, whatever the bug is/was seems to have gone [or is waiting in hiding until I look away]

- thanks for the excellent support as always

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
