Max liability

Postby Bookmatch » Thu Dec 24, 2009 3:28 pm

If I have max liability set at 200 per click, and I double clicked on the same horse, would my liability be then 400? If so is there a way of preventing this so as to keep my max liability to what it is set at (200) regardless of how many times I click the same horse?

Also with the same settings as above and override odds unchecked, would that prevent me laying a horse at huge odds, thus exceeding my max liability?

Thanks for any help.

Make sure you are using the latest Beta and the following applies.
See http://gruss-software.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3922 for download link.

Yes, your liability will be 400. You need to untick "Per click" so it takes previous bets into account. This still does not count unmatched bets so you can still exceed 200 if your bets are unmatched. Tick "Include unmatched bets in liability" to prevent placing further bets if you already have an unmatched bet in the queue and placing a further bet will potentially exceed the liability.

In summary untick "Per click" and tick "Included unmatched bets in liability".

Even with the above settings if you double click in quick succession then if your first bet has not yet hit the market as an unmatched bet when the second bet is submitted then you can still exceed the liability. This problem will be addressed in a future release.[/quote]

Hi Gary, has there been any further developments relating to not being able to exceed the max liabilty regardless of quick multiple bets?

There has been some work done on this. It will be dealt within the next few releases of the Beta version.

It hasn't been a priority because we never hear of this being an issue, except on this thread, but of course if it affects just one person it will be dealt with.

Thanks Gary. I am a little surprised that you have not had a request such as mine. I know there are several in-running players at the shop where I work that would benefit from this feature.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
