Main site problems ?

Postby Ian » Fri Nov 19, 2010 10:54 am

Are both Betfair and Betdaq main sites both down ? Can't get either to load on two different broadband connections but not getting any splash screens to say there is a problem.

Thanks Mark. Very strange, seem to be the only two sites that won't load.

BA seems OK as far as I can tell. I'm on Virgin broadband. Friend also reports the same problem on Virgin as well.

Odd. I'm on Virgin and it's ok. Rebooting your router and PC is always worth a try.

It was the first thing I tried. Still not working though, very odd.

Try going through Virgins proxy server.

It's webcache.blueyonder.co.uk, port 8080

See http://support.microsoft.com/kb/135982 for instructions on how to configure Internet Explorer.

Also if you see a proxy server already configured then that's probably the problem.

If you're not an ex Blueyonder customer like me and joined after Virgin took over you can use the following proxy.

webcache.virginmedia.com:8080

No idea if it will help, but the blueyonder proxy certainly helped when I had a similar problem a while back. Also I would only use it as a temporary measure because you wont get the same performance as when connected directly.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
