A bit of fun with xfactor

Postby xraymitch » Wed Nov 17, 2010 8:37 pm

Hi folks,

I have £4 on Katie Waissel to win at odds of 250 - worth £950 after commission. Should I take a few pounds or so profit by laying her off at 140 now, or is there anything more interesting I can do ?

Thanks for your time and ideas 8)

I'm no expert on betting on X Factor, but I cannot see her getting any further. I'd lay £4 off for a free bet for £440 and if the odds then drop drastically you can lock in a nice profit.

Cheers for that Gary - suspect you are right and really should play it safe but I may take a chance on a singoff between Wagner and Katie...

Almost anything else you do will be more interesting than the xfactor :)

Even cleaning your toilet......

I only watch it for the auditions nowadays, but somehow just can't help having a look at who's still in the running

Wagner is a joke, surely?

LOL - but glad to see even you have the odd moment away from the computer... 8)

As to Wagner I don't disagree but there is a big campaign by those disaffected by xfactor and percieved manipulation of the public to make a protest which sadly has the side effect of those with a much greater talent than Wagner losing out.

Gary you seem to be taking too keen an interest in crapfactor for comfort. This is quite disturbing.

You could redeem yourself a little by telling me you also watched the excellent 'Any Human Heart' on C4 on Sunday evening......

I didn't watch it, honest! I just looked at the market out of curiosity.

I'm afraid I didn't watch Any Human Heart. I do like science documentaries if that redeems me a little.

But Doris_Day did you not know that now Gary has become a Daddie he has become a real family man so has to watch things like xfactor rather than quality progs such as 'Any Human Heart'...

Ps My fun £4 bet has guaranteed me £25 profit.

PPS Me thinks D_D you are being too hard on xfactor as there really is some superb talent out there being given a chance of big exposure.

Heaven help us all if 'family men' are watching that dross.

Having worked in TV for over 30 years I know how set up series like that are, so perhaps I'm a little biased.....

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
