Result sheet not updating correctly!!

Postby menlolot » Tue Dec 14, 2010 2:16 am

I have this problem where my results sheet does not update correctly and I have to do a daily reconciliation to my betfair account to establish my "real" result.

Has anyone else had this problem before ????

I am investigating, but so far have not found anything wrong. So it would be useful if any other users having this problem could let me know.

Just in case you are not aware and to make sure I am not looking for a problem that does not exist can you confirm if these bets were triggered by your spreadsheet? Any bets placed manually or by another spreadsheet will not be included. It only records bets that were actually triggered by the spreadsheet.

haven't noticed anything
but i have to admit that lately i stopped logging my results sheet for 2 reasons

1. i wanted the results to be clear each day but if the bot running continuously it keep updating the results of the previous day

2 i noticed that if i place a triggered bet with -TL the offset bets are not recording in the results sheet ( is that suppose to happen?)

I will be changing this. It's not very efficient to update them again. I will try to do this in the current Beta because it's not a new feature just making it how it should be.

No, it's supposed to record them. I will investigate. Could be menlolot's problem.

Yes Mate, all bets are placed by BA.

I could not draw a line through the results that it misses.

I also run both 66x37 and 65z1 and it happens on both these releases.

Please see what you can do!!!!

Are any of these markets Australian by any chance? Are the results from a mixture of UK and Australian markets? I've just spotted something that could be the problem if this is the case.

Yes I play the Aus markets as well as UK. I have seperate spreadsheets though that run the markets for these markets seperately. On both these some results are not shown on a daily basis.

To explain more - I have a spreadsheet that lays every race to make certain profit then stops for the day. My lays will stop for the days as it reads the results sheet but when I check my bf balance it doesnt show the result sheet figureupdated for the day.

What were you thinking about??

The results are updated when it opens the next market, but the current market is used to determine which server (UK or AUS) to get the results from. So if it switches from a UK market to an AUS market it will try to get the results for the UK bets from the AUS server. This is a bug.

I am simplifying the code and it will definitely use the correct server for each bet. I will let you know when the update is available.

I dont play any of the harness racing in Aus so when my bets are taken the "other" markets are not normally in play. When the UK are running my Aus programme is shut and vice versa.

Hopefully what youre thinking will correct the problem.

Cant wait and regards.

menlolot: I have released the new Beta version. Can you try this version and let me know if the problem persists. I have also replied to your email. Can you confirm you have received it. I am a bit concerned you are not receiving my emails because you said I didn't reply to your previous email, but I replied on 28th November.

mak: This version does not look up the result if already known so should work better for you. It also includes the tick offset bets. Can you give it a try.

Meanwhile some off topic questions :)

1. Can i copy manual only the custom columns from profile to profile b ?
2. if i have a trigger that contains - TL5 and after a while it doesn't match
Can i have an update trigger and resubmit a TL2 ?

1. Sorry, it's not possible.
2. The update trigger cannot change the offset setting. You can use LAYR and BACKR. For example BACKR-T2 will cancel the back bet and resubmit it at the new odds with the new tick offset setting.

Gary,
is it possible to have an option not to update the results of the previous day?
the only solution right now is to disconnect the xlsheets and reconnect them

Do you mean remove them from the list? I would have to add this option. This would be a new feature so I can include this in the next Beta once I have finished the big code changes I mentioned previously.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
