Using BA with Windows XP Professional

Postby boycee » Mon Mar 13, 2006 11:34 pm

I am using 3 PC's at the moment. 2 Have XP Home running and the 3rd has XP Pro.

No problem with the 2 XP home but XP Pro will not allow me to log in to BA. Comes up with a whole list of errors.

I have downloaded Microsoft Net and upgraded the PC with SP2. Still no use. It rejects logging in with Bet Angel Basic as well. Same errors. Today is the 1st time I have used this PC for BA and Bet Angel.

Anyone come across this problem before?

The errors are related to System.Net WebException Could not establish secure channel for SSL/TLS etc etc

I have developed the program on a PC running XP Professional so that can't be the problem. Are you sure it isn't the firewall blocking them?

I could be wrong here. Just came across this article http://blogs.x2line.com/al/articles/258.aspx. I will be looking at this tonight.

How do I change XP PRo to accept those certificates?

BA produces a list of the errors. How can i get it to log the errors and I will paste them up here? Too long to type out.

So something to do with my setup then. Need to disable or enable something - but what?

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
