Is it the first time you have tried the program? The problem is nearly always your firewall. Check you firewall settings, it is probably blocking the program from internet access.

Log in to the betfair site - see if you have any messages to be read first.

Has cleared login problems in the past.

I've been having this problem since yesterday too.
I also can't connect to Betfair using IE so called them and they have, "Some users experiencing problems accessing the site." It's possible to get onto Betfair by using: www2.betfair.com so perhaps the programme can be made to try that address if the other one isn't working.

Yes I can confirm also. Not sure if it's Betfair to blame or not. I have been running multiple pages of BA 24/7 without any problems. Since yesterday it has been nothing but problems. "Not Responding" quite a few times and also "Problem placing bet" a number of times too.

Had to restart my PC to get it to recognise Excel as well 3 times since yesterday.

Something has changed over the last 48 hrs or so ??????

I've now been able to login but as soon as I load a market BA freezes and doesn't refresh.

dodgy logins here too

Must be at betfair's end since IE and Firefox also fail. www2.betfair.com usually works.

Trying to use Betfair over the last three days has been a real nightmare.
As Boycee says :- " Something has definitely changed "
I have spoken to three different people at Betfair, Their reaction is always that it is a problem at my end, they never admit that it is a Betfair problem.
The stock answer is :- "Delete Cookies, Temporary Internet files, check ActiveX is enabled", if that doesn't work, then it a problem with my Firewall, ISP, Browser or Wireless Router.
Up until the recent upgrade, (where they included colours and form) the site was working very well; I haven't changed anything at my end and I don't think the problem is with me.
How the hell are they going to get through the Cheltenham Festival ??

I still can't log onto betfair using the normal address. Apparently it's our ISP's servers that need to be purged. That's according to Betfair. If we could get the programme to log on using the www2.betfair.com address it would work. I don't know how to get it to do that so if anyone has any ideas? Or perhaps Gary will fix it on the next upgrade.
I'm a bit lost without it as I can only afford to be very small amounts and this programme lets me do that. I'll just have to keep using William Hill:) Best of luck everyone.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
