BA beta

Postby alrodopial » Mon Jan 17, 2011 10:02 pm

Tried to install the beta version and it is not recognizing the excel.
tried it twice:
first on xp with excel2010
and
second on windows7 and excel2007

the usual version (65z1) in xp works fine.Did't try it on windows7.

Not a problem for the moment Garry but any ideas?

It's not a widespread problem, there are plenty of people using the Beta version and Excel. The Windows version should be irrelevant.

Are you tring to connect to a spreadsheet that is already open are or are you using the browse button to open the spreadsheet?
Are there any error messages displayed?

Can you send the diagnostic log to admin@gruss-software.co.uk
It is named BA_Diagnostic.txt and is located in "c:\temp\Betting Assistant Logs" folder.

The line it has failed on does nothing different to previous versions of BA.

Are you sure it isn't a coincidence that this problem has started after installing the latest version? If you uninstall and re-install version 65z1 again I would expect the problem to continue. Can you try this and confirm?

Just to add I have exactly same problem on one of my PC. Latest BA beta/Excel working with no probs at all on one of them but on another PC seems like BA is not recognizing the excel.

Both PC's with Windows 7/Office 2010...One of them with 64b version of Win/Office (this one works just fine), another is 32 bit versions....

Very strange, issue is resolved when downgraded BA to ver.65z1

Thanks for the diagnostic log, but you didn't answer the following question which is very important in diagnosing this problem.

Are you tring to connect to a spreadsheet that is already open are or are you using the browse button to open the spreadsheet?

Any chance I could do a remote assistance session on the problem PC so I can see for myself?

Sorry , in both cases excel is not recognized.
With the browse I select a file , click open but it doesn't open and nothing appears in BA .
If you want you can also try remote with my pc but later tonight , after the end of races and after you explain how it is done

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
