Triggered betting-Win & Place markets

Postby mickemick » Tue Jan 18, 2011 10:01 pm

Not sure if it's the right place to ask questions about triggered betting using Excel. I found there is a sample Excel sheet available here: http://www.gruss-software.co.uk/forum/v ... highlight=

What I want to do is have my own selections, lay and back horses in win & place markets. Sample sheet gives me an idea how it could be done BUT, I need to place bets on both markets at the same time (win/place).

So, my questions is: is it possible ? How to make it working ? Please any ideas or sample Excel sheets are appreciated.....

I am still newbie and NOT an Excel expert but trying to learn ;)

I'm afraid there isn't a simple solution. It would require two tab pages in BA, one for the win markets and one for the place markets. These would be linked to separate worksheets in the workbook. The problems begin when you try to keep the two tabs in sync. The order of place markets in the quick pick list can be different to the order of the win markets. If I get a moment I will post an example.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
