Getting restarted

Postby winabit » Thu Feb 10, 2011 9:17 pm

Hi all,

i've not been using BA for over a month now and can't at the moment seem to get it working again with excel (the same sheets i was using before) and don't know why. i'll have another look tomorrow, but nothing major's happened in the meantime has it to cause this - i'm probably missing something daft.

i've also been using betbotpro today, which i don't think i did before at the same time. Would this cause a problem?

Thanks for any help.

It's highly unlikely that a competitor's software is preventing Betting Assistant from working.

Where exactly does it go wrong?

Does it display the workbook name when you select log current prices?

If not, is the the workbook already open when you select this option?

If the workbook is open and the worbook name does not appear does it make any difference if you reboot the PC?

If the workbook is open and you have rebooted and it still doesn't work can you send the diagnostic file to admin@gruss-software.co.uk after you have selected "Log current prices" from the Excel menu. It's located in "C:\temp\Betting Assistant Logs".

Thanks, Gary - just to let you know what i've been doing:-

Select market at specific time before off;
Excel - log current prices > the already open workbook name appears in the pop-up as usual;
Select worksheet name;
Input relevant top left-hand cell;
All of the above is displayed on the main BA screen after clicking OK.

(All boxes are ticked on main the "Excel - log current prices" pop-up, except "Log bet results" and "Log current bets"..... is this ok, as haven't thought it necessary today?).

Haven't tried rebooting yet, but will have another play around tomorrow, and let you know unless you can point out anything else first.

Thanks again, see you soon :)

Sounds like it's working to me.

Are the prices appearing in the worksheet and is the last updated time updating in the worksheet (cell C2 if the origin cell is A1)? If this is updating then it has to be the worksheet that is the problem, not Betting Assistant.

Looks like all's sorted, Gary. i've done a few tests this afternoon on a couple of fresh sheets, and found the problem was i'd selected "stall draw" for the first time not realising it would locate in Z column where i already had a ranking for the horse prices.

Thanks for your advice, much appreciated.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
