DATA TRANSACTION CHARGES

Postby grimesy » Sat Feb 19, 2011 4:01 pm

Mark / Garry,

I am using a 0.5 refresh rate on an Excel modified sheet linked to Gruss; using same to please bets every couple of seconds on the IR horse-racing.

Ran the bot yesterday - all fine.

Do the same today - BF have just taken 23quid from my account as an hourly data transaction charge...

Is there anything I can do at my end to prevent these charges?

I remember reading here recently that you liaised successfully with BF on behalf of these charges for another user.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

You can only get a refund if it's the first time it happened and you weren't aware that you would be charged. If you are placing bets every few seconds then you will definitely get charged. You are only allowed to place 1000 bets each hour without being charged.

Cell N2 contains the number of transactions in the last hour. You can change your formulas to check this is below 1000 before triggering bets.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
