Tennis Data Required

Postby doris_day » Fri Mar 25, 2011 2:14 pm

I'm looking for max and min in-play tennis Betfair/daq price data if anyone knows of its whereabouts, or has such data available to share. I have all the results and pre-in-play data but I don't have the same for in-play.

I can obvious get it all from Fracsoft but at 0.21p per game thats an expensive option if its already available elsewhere. The Betfair weekly data files are another option but there is just so much stuff to go through its a nightmare, unless someone can knock together a good Access query to sift through the data. I'm not that good at Access.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Doris,
I had trouble getting hold of this myself, so decided to start collecting my own, by tracking every match using BA. Temporarily suspended after my laptop kept crashing. I've got script with the help of others here for SP, highest and lowest inplay including time and highest with time after first bet and lowest price before rising after first bet. Different options could be tracked though.
The history will help to tweak my strategy to look at most profitable ranges over time. If it's something that might be of use to you let me know, but I'm guessing you really want historical data going back.

Kind Regards,

Ilena

Thanks for the offer. I have set up my own method for collecting the data from now but ideally I'm looking to get as much data for the previous 12 months (or further) that I can.
If you have any going back even a few months that would be great.
Best of luck....

Hi Doris,
You're probably a lot further ahead with collecting data than I am. Apart from the Betfair or Fracsoft stuff I only know one other source that may possibly record those particular parameters independently which you may be aware of, but I think it will cost as a one off.

Kind Regards,

I'm not aware of another source of this data, even at a cost, so please let me know who you think may be able to provide it.

There's a guy called Pete Nordsted who devised the strat that I base my own on. He certainly was tracking this data and maybe still does. May be worth a try. Not recommending anything here, just a possible source of information. He should come up on a Google search.

Kind Regards,

Nordsted never got back to me but I've found that using Access with the Betfair historic data is easier than I thought it would be.

I`m also looking for this data. Doris_day, where did you find pre-in-play data?

I'm using Access with the Betfair Historic data they provide free of charge here: http://solutions.betfair.com/index.php? ... 6&Itemid=5

betfair data

Please can anyone describe the way to use the Betfair data. I looked at it with MS Access but found neither highest/lowest odds nor the pattern.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
