As far as I can tell from the screenshots you have not ticked "Keep in play" before clicking the custom column to place the lay bet. When the market turns in play and the back offset bet is cancelled because it is not kept in play this also cancels the stop loss.

You shouldn't have a problem if you keep "keep in play" ticked. Are you sure you had this ticked before placing the lay bet?

It works ok when I place a back to lay bet. The IP column is autmatically ticked

But you said yourself Gary that I should see the IP column ticked if I have keep in play set as a default setting- which I have.

In your screenshot it is not ticked which it would be if it was the default setting, unless you unticked it. Have you definitely got it ticked in general preferences? When you changed to the Beta version it may have forgot this setting.

I have got your latest screenshot which shows the option is selected in preferences. I think there is some confusion here. This is the default option that is applied to the first tab when the program is opened and to any other tabs that are opened after changing this setting.

If you opened the program today and then selected this option in preferences it would not have applied the setting to the currently open tab page. The setting in preferences just means that "Keep in play" will be ticked by default in the betting options above the prices grid. If this option is not ticked it means that bets will not be kept in play. I could see from your screenshots that it was not ticked in betting options.

Yes I understand now. I thought that preference would overide everything else but I suppose a default setting is sort of a FILO setting. I have that ticked now! and everything is working :D . Thanks for being so patient. Well at least I inadvertantly found a bug----or was it.

Brilliant service-no stone left unturned-Many thanks

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
