Bets in Place market triggered by prices in Win market

Postby gizzard » Wed Apr 27, 2011 1:06 am

In racing, what is the best way to set up BA so that the latest win prices are tracked on one page but bets triggered in the Place market presumably on another page? The bets would be triggered depending on the Win bet prices etc

I assume that it would be 2 worksheets in one spreadsheet with the different sheets linked to different pages but can you confirm this?

Thanks

The way I do it is to have the win market in on worksheet, the place in another and the markets combined in a third. That way you can see both markets in the same sheet.

Thanks Ian. So it sounds as though I'm on the right track. I guess though that the 3rd sheet is only for information and isn't actually linked to a BA page.

I was thinking of having, within the one spreadsheet, a Win worksheet linked to a Win market BA page collecting the Win data but without having betting triggered. This can then be passed through to another worksheet, the Place worksheet, linked to a Place market BA page and triggering bets based on and/or the Win and Place markets. I could then have a 3rd worksheet, as you suggest, simply displaying the data from the other 2. Would that work?

(I see that you've been a member of this forum for 6 years so you must have found BA to be successful for you)

As far as I'm aware you can log more than one market to the same sheet rather than the hassle of linking sheets up.

Just log the win market to say cell A1 and the place market to target cell AA1. You can then just use VLOOKUP or something similar to match up odds for formulas

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
