Ch 4 analog

Postby DFK » Sat May 28, 2011 12:28 pm

Major body blow losing ch 4 analog pic's. I am in the midlands, clutching at straws but, does anyone know if it is possible to capture pics from further south with specialized equipment?

I don't know the definitive answer but clearly if the transmitters in your area have gone digital you are trying to pick up a signal from a region still pushing out an analogue signal.

Logically you need a bigger aerial to catch the analogue signal.
I base that on the fact that in Spain I pick up the signal from the Astra satellite but because it is focussed on the more northerly parts of Europe so I need a much bigger sat dish than I would need in the UK. If I am trying to pick up wifi over a wider area I use a bigger aerial.

Now you may need to boost the signal and there is fairly cheap kit to do this.

Should still be able to pick up analogue from the areas that haven't switched over yet depending on the size of your aerial/location. Yorkshire and London still haven't switched so whatever transmitter is nearest to you should be your starting point

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
