Runtime Error

Postby horler » Tue Jun 14, 2011 12:52 pm

First of all I have just registered to your Forum, and I am in my mid seventies and really should not be allowed on a computer, but please have patience and help if you can. I am a member of Formbet and use their ratings and download them on Gruss Betting Assistant, everthing works great on my Desk Computer but when I try to use the Ratings on my Laptop I get the following "Runtime error ‘-2147467259(800040005)

No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it 127.0.01:8000
I use Xp and 2010 on my Desk it is Gruss version 1.1.0.66x67 which works fine and laptop XP and 29110 and Gruss version 1.1.0. 65z8 could this be the problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It sounds like it could be a spreadsheet using the Betting Assistant COM server.

1. In Betting Assistant select preferences from the options menu.
2. Select the COM server tab.
3. Tick enabled.
4. Close Betting Assistant and Excel.
5. Restart everything and try again.

As you mentioned before you are using version 1.1.0.66x67 on your desktop. It sounds like they are using a new COM function not available in the version on your laptop. You should install version 1.1.0.66x67 on your laptop. Please uninstall using the Windows control panel and re-install from the link below.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
