PC could be as much as 40%??

Postby Graham » Tue Jun 28, 2011 1:07 pm

Has anybody had official notification of the rumours on BF General Betting forum regarding the hike in premium charge, allegedly it is as follows:

Customers will be subject to Premium Charges at higher rates if they satisfy the following conditions:

Lifetime net profits exceed £250,000
Lifetime commission generated less than 40% of lifetime gross profits
Bet in more than 1,000 markets
The Premium Charge rate applied to each customer that satisfies these conditions is dependent on their lifetime commission generated to gross profits ratio. The exact rate will be determined by the following table:

Lifetime commission generated
to gross profits ratio Applicable Premium Charge rate
< 5% 60%
5% - 10% 50%
> 10% 40%

That is truly shocking. I could understand in some way having an annual limit but a lifetime limit? I'm amazed.

And there is only one way that lifetime limit will change in the future. 1.01 it that its not going upwards.

Betfair say it only affects 0.1% of active customers. That may not include any of our customers.

That's only a fifth of all pc payers, and i would reckon you have more than 5 pc payers as customers Gary!!

I'd be amazed that the players who will be hit hardest, the guys at the track, aren't clicking away on your blue and pink boxes with fury all day!

But seriously, I would love to see excel functionality on your betdaq product. Although I am miles away from the quarter million target for the hike, if nothing else I would have a good stab and playing there if I could automate it.

We have a Betdaq version that is basically version 1.1.0.62 of the Betfair product in Beta at the moment. It has Excel functionality. You are welcome to try it. Install from http://www.gruss-software.co.uk/BA_Betd ... q_Beta.msi

Sorry, i shall give it a try asap.

Is this a recent change because last time i looked there was no excel functionality, i assume it must be if it is version 1.1.0.62.

i know that grammer is spelled grammar by the way!

This actually effects everyone imo,

It's clear now that betfair are sooner or later going to kill of any successful
people making long term money.

Persumably thats why everyone got into trading in the first place,
so knowing that Betdaq is the only way forward from now on imo.

Only just come across the beta only ever looked at the adobe air one before.

I think you should be promoting this version rather than the adobe air one Gary, it's alot closer to what people are used to so will mean little change.

Does the Betdaq version have COM functionality?

These new charges are ridiculous. Trouble is despite the talk no-one will change exchanges if the liquidity is still on betfair. There needs to be a concerted push, an organised campaign to switch.

That is the plan when we are ready. In retrospect we should have done this version in the first place.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
