BA and Ba for Betdaq

Postby Des911 » Fri Jul 22, 2011 9:06 am

I ran BA for Betdaq for the first time yesterday with an excel sheet I copied from using with BA. Two things happened differently,

1 A back bet was placed immediately the race opened on screen instead of waiting until 1 sec before the start

2 The Lay was placed with less profit than with BA (50% less)

I ran BA at the same time which worked fine and checked the spreadsheet cell for cell and they seemed identical (it was the spreadsheet I sent Gary at the weekend).

Is there something different between BA and BA for Betdaq which is causing this?

Have you got "calculate tick % on decimal odds" ticked in general preferences on the Betfair version? This will explain the difference in lay profit. The Betdaq version does not have this option as the Betfair version it was based on did not have this option at the time.

Thanks Gary,

Yes I have the "calculate tick % on decimal odds" ticked on the Betfair version.

Presumably this means I can't do what I wanted to do on the Betdaq version?

Not at the moment, but that is a simple addition. I will add it shortly.

Thanks Gary.

Any thought on the bet placing at the wrong time?

I cannot see anything wrong. The trigger requires that cell AJ5 on the Market sheet contains "Y". This is only the case when cell AK5 (seconds until start) is less than or equal to cell AL5. Can you try it now and check what value cell AK5 is displaying. Also does cell AL5 contain 1? If it triggers the bet immediately can you save a copy of the spreadsheet immediately and send it to admin@gruss-software.co.uk

I have added the "calculate tick % on decimal odds" option. I'm not doing an auto update just yet so you can uninstall and install from the link below.

Weird, just tried it and it seems fine. I'll keep an eye on it now I know what's supposed to happen.

Thanks for your attention GAry.

Just watched it and it happened. When the race came up, for a split second the Y came up before turning to N. Will try and catch it and save it. Looks like when the race opens cell AK5 is a large -figure and the Trigger kicks in until AK5 goes to the + figure.

Many thanks for that.

I've emailed the excel for the timing problem.

Just watching the Betfair spreadsheet, cell AK5 seems to "freeze" while the race loads and then changes to 57 after a while whereas on the Betaq cell AK5 continues it's countdown (just my observation in case it helps)

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
