Is it possible to place a back bet and then place a lay bet into the ladder that would be hedged automatically if it was reached.Thanks

Yes, you can use the Tick Offset feature with Auto Level ticked.

Set the ticks (i.e. valid Betfair price increments) that you want to use or set it as a % of the back odds by ticking 'Ticks=%' and then when your back bet is matched the lay bet will automatically submitted with adjusted stakes so as to produce a level profit.
