See the pics below to see where I am now. One click on the Open Bladder grey box makes that cmd open message appear above A1, but then nothing changes and I still get asked for a vb password if I click it again, and although I have found references to macros, but no certain way of allowing.

Help :D

Typical, 1 second after replying this I work it out.

Hope this gives you a valuable lesson on helping morons!

Right, now we here to play..........

Is there any chance, to make it simple for someone like me, that one of those demonstration vids could be done, as it looks great but I am kind of worried about pressing anything at the moment.

With BA, it is obvious when you hang you cursor over either back or lay what you are doing, on this ladder there is not highlight. Is it a matter of just clicking a blue or pink once?

Does clickin any price on the Ladder place a bet in at that price for you? i.e I back George Washington at 10/1 (I wish) prior to a race, can, after the race goes live again, I scroll to the pink button 5.0 and leave a lay up there hoping to be matched? Equally, If I lay in-running, which I do, can I place a lay up to be caught on the way out? and if I click on say 14.0 for a lay, will it match the lowest available at that time, or wait for 14 to be hit? (sorry if all that causes brain ache)

The stake part has various buttons, but when I click them no amount goes into the clear box. However, I can type in 5. What does pressing the buttons 2,5, 10 etc actually do?

I did read here, I think, that you can limit loss. How can I do that and what do I need to use for that?

What will the Net button do?

I think asking all these questions here may help quite a few people - equallu unExcel friendly, as it looks a great bit of kit, and you are to be comended for it. I know a few of these questions have been asked here before, but having them all here in one place would be helpful. Anyone is free to answer the questions, as all help is greatfully accepted.

Like I say, if a demo vid could be done, it would make life so much easier, as I picked up BA within minutes using that.

Cheers for all your work.

So, for some days now there has not been any comments or feed-back. I'm using it every day with nice profits. Nevertheless I'm unable to use the Net buttom because it simple doens't work.

So, more feed-back please.

I noticed the lack of response since my question, which is a shame. Perhaps everyone is winning too much, as I am with BA. It would be nice to be given a little bit of guidance here before having a proper go, as I hate wasting money :)

If anyone wants, or has the time, to add me to msn and chat me through it on there, please PM me.

Regards

Ok,

The Ladder works like BA. If you click in the blue part you'll be making a Back bet, if you click in the pink part you'll be making a Lay bet. These bets will be submited at the odds shown on the midle of the ladder.
To make it simple to explain this is a diferent way of showing the same thing as BA does, but the advantage is that its faster to trade because you can see a lot of ticks at the same time, and you can have an idea of where the odds are going (up or down).

On the left, you can choose the amount you wish to bet. If you click in "2" you'll be making bets of 2£. The clear box is for you to write the amount you wish to trade. For example, if you wish to trade 2.5£ you just write that on that empty box. Nevertheless, on Excel you can edit the amounts shown on the Ladder.

The hedge button divides the profits/loses you have in one selection by all the others.

The Net button is a bit dificult to explain at first. It tells you the amount that has not been already match in a bet that you made. For instance you made a 100£ bet but only 40£ was match, the net button will show those 40£. If would click on it and very quickly you would make the oposite bet.

Hope it helped.

Cheers for answering my reply.

With BA, you can lay at a top-end price, mine is 14.0, set it to over-ride and a lower price will get matched. In your reply, it says you will get matched at price on the screen, which would not suit me obviously. Does the software cater for that senario?

I must admit I do not understand the part about the clear box, and trading. If I was to lay in £5, does that mean I need to click on the 5 and everytime I click on the pink lay side, it will lay a fiver?

Any more offers out there?

Feedback

Postby D Splash » Wed May 10, 2006 4:33 pm

In Running:-
:!:I'm not sure a betting ladder is suitable for in running, this is because there may be a considerable space (gaps) between available offers.

Other issues :-
 When I press the 'NET' button, nothing happens. I am assuming the amount would show up in the box next to it, but I have yet to see that happen.

 I do find the bet ladder more intuitive than the traditional display due to the gaps being displayed, which can easily be overlooked otherwise.

 A 'Cancel all bets' (is this the same as 'Clear') button would be nice. I still use the BA window to carry out these functions so it's not a problem.

Thankyou to all those concerned with the development of this project.

About the box that is empty: You use that box to enter the amount you wish to trade. To be faster you can use the pre-selected amounts, for instance £5. Once you press that button you don't need to do anything else. You can Back, Lay or Lay, Back. The amount will always be the same, £5.

With the ladder you can't do the "over-ride".

Okay, I've away for awhile, and voila! You guys have taken my favourite betting software and turn it on its head.

Lovely! I am currently beta testing a vertical app for another exchange (Tradesports) and love the different view of the market it gives you. My question is, how do you actually open the application.

Here's what I did: 1) opened BA to a race (18:12 Pimlico) 2. Clicked on Excel. 3. In the drop down menu checked Triggered bet and Log current prices 4. click Open Bladder 5. Read the following: "Run time error '1004' Method 'Worksheets' of object'_Global' failed

At that point I clicked "end" and the application closed.

Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

I don't see anything wrong. Try it again. Its been ok!

About the developing of the Ladder having ended, well I don't know. A1house, the developer hasn't been around so without him there isn't much we can do.

I tried to give him all the feedback possible to improve the Ladder but now its all to him :?:

Thanks Dede

Miraculously, it worked perfectly this time, and I don't know why. At least the price is affordable.

Cheers

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
