Lost my sound alerts

Postby 2020vision » Tue Mar 06, 2012 5:30 pm

Hi Gary :)

hopefully this will turn out to be really easy and could be my computer but
having checked everything out - rebooting, sound settings & alert sounds,
etc - I am completely unable to get any sound alerts working at all?
This is since updating to the latest version this afternoon.

Otherwise all sounds from everywhere else or whatever format works fine?
This obviously means I can play my sound alerts but simply not through BA?
Can you please confirm that the very latest version v66x83 plays alerts as usual?

Thanks for any advice you may have - Michael

Well this is very puzzling :?:

I have just treble checked everything by un-installing latest version and testing
a previous version that I know to be good for sounds and amazingly I have
absolutely no sound from BA at all? But everything else works great!

Basically I am saying that this must be down to something at my end or else
the previous version would have restored my sounds - wouldn't it?

I shall just keep trying to get my alerts back - any suggestions from anyone welcome.

Ttfn - Michael

PROBLEM SOLVED :)

Lord knows how it happened AND survived a system restore but somehow
my system was outputting sound through 5.1 system and for some reason
BA alone was sending the sound alerts through speakers which are not
even connected? My solution ended up being simply to tell playback devices
that I only have two stereo speakers.

Maybe it may help someone else in the future?

All the best - Michael

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
