Vlookup help required

Postby doris_day » Sat Jun 16, 2012 2:35 pm

I want to use vlookup (or similar) on a page with multiple Correct Score markets.

I know how to use vlookup when all the data you're after is on one row but how do I point to data that's on other lines ? For instance, say I find my market, like Sweden in A1 but I want my cell with the formula to load the data from cell F5 (0-0 back data), which is Offset from A1 by 5 columns and 4 row. Can I use the Offset function within the vlookup formula somewhere ?

Any assistance would be grateful.

Hi doris,

Both of these formulae will offset a string match of Sweden in cell A1 to F5

=INDEX(A:F,MATCH("Sweden",A:A,0)+4,6)

=OFFSET(A1,MATCH("Sweden",A:A,0)+3,5)

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
