MyBets sheet not updating

Postby olisav » Thu Aug 02, 2012 6:26 pm

Hi Gary,

At the moment I am putting all the horse races in one tab of Betting Assistant and I trade on them through out the day. The actual refresh rate is about once every 5-10 minutes as my throttling is quite low. The issue I am having is that MyBets is not always updated so I will have a bet that is fully matched but it will not be showing in MyBets even though the market has refreshed. Other times the market is closed and the bets have been settled but we still have the old bets in MyBets and these can randomly go up to an hour after the market has finished.

Any ideas why this is happening.

Thanks,
olisav

Do you close any of the markets while still linked to Excel?

Also what version of Betting Assistant are you using? I am investigating this in the Beta version, but haven't found any problems yet.

Hi Gary,

Thanks for looking into this. We do not close any races. Our version is 1.1.0.66X84.

It got particularly bad when we set the refresh rate to a longer rate when the race has finished. So for example if the 14.00 race had finished we set the refresh rate to 600 so our other races would refresh quicker. Now we have changed the refresh rate to 1 second for every race even if it is over and MyBets seems to be refreshing better. Does MyBets get refreshed everytime the one market refreshes or do they all have to refresh, or is it just on one race?

Thanks again,
olisav

Each sheet keeps track of the bets for the market it's logging, it won't update other markets so if you have a refresh set for 600 seconds it won't update that sheet and set of MyBets until the next refresh 600 seconds later.

You could always use the Market Closed indicator to shut down or increase the refresh rate on those markets especially as betfair are pretty quick at settling these days

Thanks for that. The issue only happens when we have all the horse races on one sheet. It seemed to get worse when we had closed races on refresh of 600 seconds, even though the races we had bets on were refreshing every few seconds it would take a long time for MyBets to be updated.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
