Lay Liability Query

Postby Stu77 » Tue Sep 25, 2012 5:51 pm

Hi. When I use the lay liability staking mode, how do I lay to the same fixed liability when the odds change? For example when the odds shorten as I am laying a horse, my liability decreases once I've placed the bet (I hope this makes sense) . How do I lay to a fixed liability regardless of the odds decreasing/increasing.

Thanks, Stu.

I'm not sure what you are asking. Do you mean you want to place a further lay bet to make up the difference if the odds decreased just as you placed the bet? If so then this feature does not support this.

I'll try to explain it better. Example : I want to lay a horse at odds of 2/1 (3.00) for a liability of £10 which would mean my stake is £5. Just as I'm about to lay odds of 3.00 the horse gets backed into 2.80 but I still want to lay the horse for the same liability which would results in a new stake of £5.55 (£10 liability) but I have to input the stake manually if the odds change. I apparently can't change the odds with a mouse click which then automatically should change my stake to keep my liability at £10. Sorry if this is confusing.

Cheers, Stu.

Are you using "My Bets" to the right of the grid to place the bet?

Yeah, I used "my bets" to place bets or change the odds depending on what price I want to back or lay.

Hi Gary. Did you have a look into that? Is there no option to lay to the same fixed liability regardless of changing the odds? Thanks, Stu.

There is an option, but there's a slight glitch I am fixing before I give you the details. I am working on it at the moment. I will let you know shortly.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
