Excel links will not update?

Postby jossari » Mon Nov 05, 2012 6:51 pm

Hi,

I am using two excel worksheets at same time named A and B. These both have same visual Basic code for automated betting. I have linked some values from worksheet A to B and vice verca some values from B to A. I am using worksheet A to GAME 1 and worksheet B to GAME 2.

My problem is that automated betting will work only with this worksheet, which is actived or selected. And also these links between worksheets A and B will work only A-->B or B-->A depending which worksheet is actived.

Question: How I can be sure that links A-->B and B-->A will work at same time --> both worksheet are activeted?

I am using "calcGreenUp" code which is introduced in these pages..

Hello,

Links across workbooks only work 'live' if both workbooks are in the same instance of Excel. If you have 2 or more instances open then you have to manually update links in DATA/EDIT LINKS/UPDATE which is probably not what you want.

If you must have more than 1 instance of Excel a workaround is to copy the data you need using VBA using a worksheet_ calculate or worksheet_change event

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
