try Betdaq.....I'm in the same boat as you (German resident)....I have a Betdaq account and haven't been given any notice from them....If you do open an account, I wouldn't bring up the issue with them..

...have a few ideas on getting around the betfair ban....such as a short term bedsit rental in UK, etc....costs a bit, but it's the cost of doing business  ....only problem with that is if Betfair block German i.p. addresses....but as far as that goes, the e-mail mentioned that the full site would still be accessible to German residents.

A techie guy i know suggests that a proxy address would make your I P address appear to be in the UK and so you would be able to access your Betfair account while abroad. Any one have experience of this , or comments .?

Does BA works in Germany?
I mean if it stills communicates with BF (shows markets, odds moving etc)(even though it can not place bets)

Thanks

I don't think so. I bet they'll shut down all areas by next year. :(

Because i'm not allowed to bet on the betfair betting exchange from Germany i canceled the subscription for Betfair Betting Assistant.

What good is a good software and a competent support if the betting exchange is no longer available?

Gary and Mark, thank you for everything so far. I am sure I will be using your services again, if the law changes accordingly.

For the moment the exclusion means a lot of lost work for me.

Hi,

There are many good companies providing VPN services. The one I use when in France is http://www.uk2.net/vpn/

This costs about £6 a month automatically recurring each month unless you cancel 10 days (check terms and conditions) or so before renewal.

Hope this is of help.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
