Are COM Interface calls Synchronous?

Hi,
Can anyone tell me if calls using the COM Interface are Synchronous. For instance, if I make a call to load a particular event from Excel VBA, will my code wait for the event to be loaded before continuing?

Yes, it's synchronous (i don't know if BA has some timeouts routines so if a market gets stuck loading after a while it returns an error).
