Partially matched bets

Postby zemedelec » Wed Mar 13, 2013 9:09 am

Hello,

lets say I have a bot running and if some conditions are met it places a bet with BACK-F10 trigger. So far it worked great, but I experienced some troubles yesterday - the bet was partially matched, and the rest was cancelled after 10 seconds, then bet ref column was "cancelled" and trigger was still BACK-F10, therefore no more bet were triggered as my CLEAR command did not clear anything :)

My questions:
1) is this CANCELLED message in bet ref column normal in this situation?
2) how can I make sure that my bot will place rest of the partially matched bet at best odds available? Shall I use BACKR?

Thank for advice.

1) Don't know what happened there. If it was partially matched then the bet ref should have remained. CANCELLED should only appear if the bet ref no longer appears as an unmatched bet. CLEAR will clear anything so it should have removed "CANCELLED".

2) After issuing CLEAR another BACK trigger should be sufficient. BACKR only works with completely unmatched bets.

Thanks Gary.

Just to doublecheck, if I use BACK-F10 and got partially matched then:

a) After 10 seconds, unmatched part is cancelled?
b) In bet ref column, there is a bet ref no. of matched part?
c) After CLEAR, I can use BACK-F10 again, only with adjusted stake (original - already matched)?

Thx.

That is correct. When the bet is partially matched it has "P" appended and after fill or kill "P" will be removed.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
