STOP LOSS NOT ACTIVATED WITH CHASE ON!!!

Postby TheLongGame » Sun May 05, 2013 3:50 pm

Hi

Can anyone give some light on what might have happed here.
My dad has just got involved in the inrunning market in the 15:10 at newmarkeet
He layed Hamza in running using a present colum at the odds of 6 with a stake of 100, getting matched @ average odds of 5.24 with a liabilty of 424 pounds.
In this colum he had a stop loss ticked @ odds of 3, with the chase button ticked.
The horse ran prominant in the race and went onto win. In the transaction log it said Hamza was backed @2.92 for 179.45 pounds,BUT the bet was never placed and lost his full liabilty.
When you look on the betfair site account there is no record of a back bet!!
I understand if the market collapses your stoploss might be missed, but i thought with the chase ticked it would get you matched at the best price possible.

We are fairly new to gruss, can someone explain what might have happened. Is the stop loss and chase irragular and not to be trusted??

why did it say a back bet was placed at 2.92 for 1.79.45 and nothing happend.

If it did miss the price why didnt the chase actuate. ( we currently have it at default at 1 sec)!!!

Any advice would be greatly recieved!!

Many thanks

Hi,

It sounds like the Stop Loss fired but didn't get matched.
In order to use the Chase option you also need to use the 'Level Loss' option which I suspect wasn't ticked hence the reason it didn't chase.

Hi Mark
Thanks for the quick reply, the auto level was ticked in the custom colum and also the level loss was ticked on the main screen, so could there be another reason why this happened.
The chase if unmatched was ticked at 1 second on the main screen. Does this cover the colums as there is no chase option on the custom colum??

Hi,

Ok that would be the reason.
Custom Columns are self contained, i.e. they are not affected by whatever options you may have ticked outside of them.
At the moment there is no option to set Chase Stop Loss from a Custom Column, it is something that is planned for a future release.

Mark

Thankyou Mark, that has answered my question!!

A chase option on the custiom colum would be PERFECT for my angle, i would love to have that option available asap.

Have you any idea when that option will be added???

Many Thanks

Chase option would be a good one but I doubt a lot of users will be able to use this. But keep your fingers crossed.
Nothing is coincidence. Image

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
