CANCEL-ALL-MARKET

Postby U.F.O » Sun Jun 16, 2013 6:01 pm

I have used this trigger for a quite a long time with no problems at all,
but recently i have stated to use some automatic stop losses in my automation.

And the problem im having is it seems it cancels all bets but not the stop losses,

the red square remains visable on the ladder and it appears to still place it when the required odds are reached.

can anyone confirm this is happening or is it just me

It definitely works as I use it frequently to cancel offsets & stops. I may be wrong, but I think it needs a value (any value) in the bet reference column to work correctly. I usually just send CANCEL-ALL to both column Q & T

Sorry, just realized you meant CANCEL-ALL-MARKET. Not sure about that one as I always send CANCEL-ALL either to a single selection or all selections at once.

Oh, my God. I didn't know that such a trigger exists.
This would have saved me a lot of work day in day out. :?
It should definitely be mentioned in the user guide.

Ok i have been playing about with this today and think i have sussed out what’s going on now,

Not really sure if it’s a bug or if it is supposed to be like this by design
so maybe Gary or Mark could have a look and confirm.

Basically if you place the following trigger Back-T5-SL5
Then After the back bet is matched do a CANCEL-ALL-MARKET

Then this works perfectly as expected and cancels the Lay exit bet and the stop loss too, great.

But however if you were to use the following trigger BACK-SL5 without the offset part
The CANCEL-ALL-MARKET still leaves the stop loss in place and it’s not cancelled.

Now that sort of makes sense that it does nothing in a way, because in the simple example I have given there is in effect no bet to cancel,
but if you have multiple bets in the market like I regularly do, it can be a problem as I can be greened up on a selection but still have an active stop loss which can then really mess things up.

Hope this all makes sense if not I will attempt to clarify further .
:D

Just to add, which may help explain what i am talking about better,
it does not work in the same way as the cancel all bets button from within BA,

this cancels all bets and stop losses at the same time and is what im hoping to achieve with the CANCEL-ALL-MARKET trigger.

thanks

I remember asking Gary for the cancel all market trigger because the Cancel-all wasn't sufficient for my needs at that time. I don't think it was ever set to do anything other than cancel all existing bets within the market and just used the CancelBetsByMarket API routine so wouldn't take into account any pending stops etc

Might be worth PM'ing Gary to tweak if it's still leaving any pending stop losses

Ok thanks,
i have found away round the problem now for my purposes,
but maybe if Gary see's this can amend it to cancel the stops in the next update . :)

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
