"Excel not logging at all; problems" solver-thread

Postby larsd » Thu Jul 06, 2006 11:11 am

Hi,

as posted in another thread I cannot get Excel to work with BA. Nothing happens. This seems to be a problem many people are having. I'm creating this thread as a gathering point for information related to this problem so we (and/or Gary) can find a solution.

The problem is simply - for some of us Excel does not work at all with BA - there is no interaction even though everything is done correctly by the user.
From what I've seen the problem has been reported ever since 0.98 - one user (Tiger) reported it working in 0.96 but then stopped working.

One user reported re-installing Excel from the Office CD had solved the problem. I have a laptop with a totally fresh install of Excel and it did not help me.

My info is:
My version of Excel is 2003 (11.5612.5606). I have also tried the integration another computer (the laptop) with Excel 2003 (11.8012.6568) SP2.
I have English Microsoft Office and Windows, although I'm from Norway
I have Norwegian Betfair (but it shouldn't matter as the integration BA ->Excel should work even if not logged in)

I had this problem a while ago. It was after I had re-formatted my hard drive and was re-loading all my software.

If I remember correctly I had load Excel before I loaded the BA.

I don't know if this helps but it goes towards the volume of information you are looking to collect.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
