Laoded 30 day trial.....

Postby wizardofmann » Sun Jul 28, 2013 10:20 am

.... three days ago and have a few questions I would appreciate feed-back on.

My set-up at the moment is as follows: I have three screens running. Screen one has Betting assistant running. Screen two the Betfair exchange (Horse racing card) page. Screen three Oddschecker/Sporting Life.

I am noticing that, especially early on there seems to be differences between the odds shown on BA and BF. At the moment I have up the 14.10 @ Carlise and the odds on both the back and lay side do not match up! Right now Kenny The Captain on BA reads 15/32 while BF reads 13/50 (Even after refreshing BF page it remains the same) Any ideas why? Also, BA matched total reads £1518.16p while BF reads 1518.00p.

On BF site I have confirm bets activated but it has not migrated over to BA (Even though I set up verify bets by default ticked) and the first bet I put on went live (To my shock and horror!) but thankfully my lay lost. Phew!! Therefore at the moment I activate my bets using the BF page bet-slip and use the BA page to decide when to place the bet (Obviously because of the speed advantage)

Now, just to see what reaction I get; one of my systems is to only lay without backing the same horse. I went live with this system just over three months ago and I have a seventy-three percent sucess rate. Yep, I can see a lot of raised eyebrows but in the three days since using BA my sucess rate has gone up by two percent. I would be most interested to hear your comments and to see if there are other people who use a similar system (Very few I would hazard at a guess)

And please note, cross-matching is only good for one thing - making more money for Betfair.

making more money for Betfair.

I couldn't agree with you more on this. They seem to find every bit of way to make it a win win situation for them.

@doris-day

In your opinion would it be better turning "cross-matching" off?

Probably, a dumb question!

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
