Problem with greyhound LAY-SP triggered bets being cancelled

Postby spindlefish » Sat Dec 14, 2013 11:51 pm

I've been using Excel to lay horses with the LAY-SP trigger and have had no problems. Tonight I tried the same with greyhounds, but in 2 consecutive races, after my lays have been sitting unmatched as expected (my lays were below the current price), all lays have been matched at BFSP except on the shortest priced runners.

In the first race, the fav was 1.99, and in the second there were 2 dogs priced at about 3.2-3.6. All lays except these short ones have been matched in the reconciliation process, but after the SP reconciliation, these short ones show up as CANCELLED.

All liabilities are over the BF minimum of £10. Anyone know what's going on?

When you say liability what do you actually mean? Betfair's minimum limit for SP means your actual payout has to be £10 as opposed to how some may calculate liability.

If your payout was above that £10 for the runners i.e. at 1.99 your stake would have had to be £10.11. If it wasn't down to the stake sizes just post up your actual bets and the races as I've always found the BSP to be robust and rarely fails as long as you stick to the correct minimums

Capt S, I think you've hit the nail on the head. I was testing, so my total payouts would be a little over £10, but as you point out, that's not the same as liability. Thanks for your reply.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
