BSP_BETTING_NOT_ALLOWED

Postby SenseiCRO » Thu Dec 26, 2013 1:30 pm

Hello

I've made an excel script for automated trading and put BACKSP as the trigger, stake $5, odds 1.25 (SP) and I received the Bet Ref saying "BSP_BETTING_NOT_ALLOWED". What have I done wrong?

Thanks

Are you by any chance trying to bet at SP after the race has started ?

yes, I'm Backing SP immediately when the race goes in play.
Any suggestion?

That's too late. SP only works when the race is not in play yet.

As you asked for suggestions: Place your SP bet x seconds after the
scheduled off. The value you use for x is not important as you will receive
the same odds anyway. Only if you choose x too high you will be late in
some races.

Just think of the logic and implications of trying to place SP bets after the off and you'll see why it cannot be done.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
