Back SP prerace through Excel

Postby SenseiCRO » Fri Jan 10, 2014 2:41 pm

Hello,

I've tried to Back SP before the horce race start, with request of leveled 1 tick offset and leveled 30 ticks stoploss offset.

For that purpose I constructed the following trigger:
BACK-SP-TL3-SL20-L

and I put it 15 seconds before start into the cell Q5.
Before that I put 5 into the cell S5.
The cell R5 remained empty.

Immediately after putting that trigger, the cell T5 contained "Error" and BA didn't put the bet.

What did I do wrong?

Cheers,
Dean

Excel won't know what the SP is 15secs before the race starts. It can only know the SP at the start.
You could use the Projected SP however.

my Excel sheet does know when to fire the bet, 15 seconds before the start, but something is wrong.

Without Excel I do the same thing manually in the BA using TickOffset and Stoploss, but with Excel doesn't work.

Why?

i think SP should be in the end of the trigger ?

BACK-TL1-SL30-L-SP

this is from BA help

The order when combining is as follows:-
Tick Offset - Fill or Kill - Stop Loss - Keep in Play
http://www.gruss-software.co.uk/Betting ... p/help.htm

I also think you shoud add somewhere the IP (to keep offset bets in play)

probably something like this
BACK-TL1-SL30-L-SP-IP

please test it because I am not sure at all for these triggers !!

Thanks for your assistance, but both triggers that you suggest generate Error.

Anyone else can help?

SP prices comes in column Y on your sheet, if you click SP box when linking to Excel. Hope this helps.....

Thanks anyone for your suggestions, but I found the solution to my problem by myself.

The problem was that I wasn't filling the odds column R, since I didn't want to bet at any price prerace, but to "reserve" the bet on SP. This cannot be done throught Excel how I can do it manually through BA.

What I do now, when it works properly is:
1. I put my bet into the column S, then
2. I put the value 990 into the odds column R, and then, finally
3. I fire the bet by putting the trigger BACK-TL1-SL30-L-SP to get the SP when the race goes inplay (favourite obviously will not reach the 990 odds prerace, so the bet will remain unsettled prerace and will be converted into SP when the race starts), get 1 tick offset leveled, and secure the bet with the 30 ticks leveled offset.

Maybe this helps someone.

Cheers

What about =IF($E2$="In Play";"BACK-TL1-SL30-L-SP";"")
and copy the SP odds from column Y in column R.

no, because it would probably immediately or with some time gap, my bet would be accepted, which I don't want to happen. I want to bet the true SP.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
