Profit & Loss calculation with new commission rates

Postby keesbart » Sat Feb 01, 2014 5:46 pm

Dear Gary, Mark,

From today my commission rate changed to 6.5%.
BA is still calculating with 5% in the spreadsheet.
I would like to know how I can change this percentage, so that the profit & loss is calculated correctly.

Best Regards,

Hi Keesbart,
Send you a PM, commission rate should be in your spreadsheet. Not to difficult to change it.

The profit and loss is calculated by BA, also in the grid and the ladder.
It is a function of BA.
Under Preferences --> General you can tick "Show P&L net of commision". I think that the API is not sending the right commision rate to BA, but I am not sure.
I also noticed that Betfair is not calculating 6.5% for football matches.
This is still about 5%.

I am investigating. It should be getting the commission rate from the API.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
