Unmatched offset bets

Postby boycee » Fri Feb 21, 2014 6:18 pm

Hi guys been a while. :)

I am using columns W and X as a means to clear bet references, which works fine for most occasions. When I am laying with the offset option it can run into difficulties with shorter priced selections. By this I mean it will clear bet references whilst there is still an unmatched offset bet in the system and then fires a second, third etc bet on that selection - not so good.

So what i am seeking is a more efficient way of clearing bet references which will avoid firing in unwanted bets when there are still unmatched bets on that particular selection. What would you guys recommend?

The bet ref in column T will have P appended to the end of the bet ref for partially matched bets. Also, if using the MyBets sheet you can lookup a horse to see if there is an associated unmatched bet.

It's possible to place bets without clearing bet references, just use VBA to write the bet over five columns rather than three where the last two columns are nullstrings to overwrite existing bet references.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
