Right I just changed that - presumably it was on the old settings - however I can't now get gruss to find the excel sheet I was using. It just shows the first open excel sheet and won't allow me to browse for another one. This was an issue I brought up weeks ago and you just ignored!!!!!

When I write the stake 0.92 manually into Excel it works.
But when VBA writes 0.92 into Excel a bet with stake 2 is placed instead.

I don't understand how it can make a difference who is writing that 0.92 into the same cell.

Are all spreadsheets in the same folder? It is best if they are in the same folder due to the way it recognises open workbooks. Also you sometimes get Excel instances running in the background without a visible workbook so best thing to do is close all Excel
Instances (check Excel.exe) is not in task manager and open them again.

Neither do I so I will need to investigate further.

Could you send a copy of the diagnostic log in case there is a clue in there? Please send to admin@gruss-software.co.uk. If you could also indicate the time the bet was triggered it will help me find it in the log.

The only thing that works is to ensure that the first excel sheet opened is in the folder that I keep my Gruss spreadsheets. But I didn't need to do this with the previous version, so something has not been replicated properly and it's a pain to have to shutdown every (non-gruss) spreadsheet I'm working on because of a bug in the software.

I had to close my in-running bot after the first six races today as it kept crashing as soon as my race countdown timer reached zero (Which is when my bot becomes active) or when ever I placed a manual bet via the new API. Looking at the Excel error log entries the only thing which I could recognise as a problem was 'Bet results API error' one after another!!

I tried to attach the notepad log entries and then copying and pasting to word but got the message 'The extension docx is not allowed' I you need the log entries let me know and I will send by email.

Hello,
I'm having problems running this new version of Betting Assistant (ver. 1.3.0) for more than 24hours non-stop. Have tried in 2 different systems.
After being running with no problems for several hours I have to restart the software. I can't access any market and my account balance becomes 0 (zero).
Today I just let it running and made no bets. I had to restart at 20h00 (when I arrived home) with the same problem. There is no problem in the diagnostic log:

09112014 02:35:07:267: API login response:OK
09112014 02:35:07:423: Session currency:EUR
09112014 02:35:07:984: Adding news page
09112014 02:35:08:655: News tab page added.
09112014 02:35:14:224: addMarkets(). Market type:UK WIN

Some users login sessions time out for no reason that I can determine. Which version are you using? 1.3.0.?

Did you select "Open settings folder" from the options menu and look in there?

Log multiple sheets didn't work correctly for me with v1.3.0.7 - it only picked up the first row (I link to 12 sheets), and that was incorrectly populated.

Hopefully once I've redefined each sheet to log to that will be it, because it's time consuming.

No, I looked in C:\temp\Betting Assistant Logs.

No, I looked in C:\temp\Betting Assistant Logs.

I moved the location to a folder where read/write access is guaranteed. If you open the settings folder you should find the log from yesterday. Nothing is overwritten, even when you restart the application it appends to the log.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
