Alas poor API 6.0 sorely missed thou art..

Postby Fixador » Mon Nov 17, 2014 7:00 pm

ok, just a bit of drama in a crisis....

https://promo.betfair.com/betfairsp/results.html

With the demise of API 6.0 the BSP results service has been down since the new pup took over last monday. Last friday i raised a ticket with betfair developers asking when the service was being resumed. This is the reply recieved today:-

Unfortunately, due to the recent retirement of API 6.0 (which was being used by this service), the provision of this data has been discontinued until further notice.

So, I reckon either it is already working again - or they are not whipping the software writers enough these days.

Anyway - after a week of twiddling my thumbs ... does anyone know where I can get both outcomes and the BSP odds RETROSPECTIVELY ie at the end of day ? ( I only bet some days -ie, have Gruss running some days, but want outcomes and BSP for every day - and as we all know - we are not allowed to save data after a market is closed ... hence this message in an attempt to stay 'legal'

At the moment http://www.betfairpromo.com/betfairsp/prices/ is still working. I enquired about this last week and they tried to get me to use
http://form.timeform.betfair.com/. I've only had a quick look but it seems to show the same data but not in CSV format.

hi merlmagic, I looked at your first link - but I struggle to understand their layout. Why are races split so ?

Following are the last 10 lines for uk races win only filter applied

Hi merlmagic ( again )

Thank you for both links - the Timeform one will suit me ( as is eod today ). It will take a few days to 'sort' out  - I suppose by the time I have got it running - then the link I started this thread with, will be active again.

TimeForm : doesn't give 'placers' if that is important to you ( also there number of runners is dreadfully inaccurate ! )

BF RSS feed : Get winners and Placers - but no BSP odds

It has been a delightful journey meshing these 2 together into : click one button excel operation :D

If I were a betting man - I'd Lay that promoBSP appears again for the start of the turf Flat 2015 or 2016 !

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
