Mathematically its always better to back due to the difference in odds, however it is usually more convenient to lay if the price difference is not too great

Many thanks once again for the continued improvements and features in the program. Look forward to the Trading Mode.
Someone mentioned a little while ago . that it would be useful to be able to set one's own commission rate, so that the profit/loss figure was net. Don't think that this is very important because this can be seen on the Betfair split screen.

Hello Layit, I tend to play mostly in-running. Is there any way, using your software, that I can just lay one horse at a price and stake that I select pre-race?

Hi,

Have you considered adding a cancel all button, maybe on the right hand bar? As a quick way to cancel outstanding bets without having to go through the BF interface? A display of pending bets would be useful too (as I often use the program without the BF display)..

Cheers

Captain Gas. The program does not support a proxy server, I bet this is your problem. I have changed it to use the proxy server in your internet options and will release this version tonight. It should solve your problem.

Hi LayItYouMug,
I saw the comment from FortunesAlwaysHiding and your response.
Let me say up front that I do trust you and I have been inputting my login details in order to access your trader product BUT I still think FAH's point shouldn't be so easily dismissed. There is huge fraud underway on the net and many of us keep large balances at BF and the password mechanim is there for a very good reason.
You have pioneered the development of free software for BF users and it seems that everyone is grateful to you for this but surely it is wholly within the spirit of what you want to achieve that as many people benefit from your product as possible. Therefore, a major obstacle such as having to input my password whenever I use "your" screen (when I do not have to do this if I simply enter the BF site as my computer already remembers my password - and this assists against keyloggers) is highly likely to deter many of the people that you so graciously wish to help.
I, like so many other BF users, am hugely grateful to you for your heroic efforts on developing this for everyone's benefit but I think you should seriously give more consideration to the password issue or accept that your product will only be used by those who are daring enough to expose their password.

I'm nearly at the stage where I can get rid of the Explorer component from my program. It uses up memory and is slow. I will then have to present my own login screen so that it can pass it onto Betfair's server to let you into the site. What are you going to say then?

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
