Thanks

Then if the basic sheet tests fine I'm out of options. I have cleaned down and reloaded several times.

The excel linkage has run without hitches for me over quite along time, the one thing that has changed recently at my end is a new version of excel.
So tomorrow I have the opportuniy to check from a different IP address.
Afterwards I will contact you and hope you can advise.

Hi,

What is the new version of Excel that you have?

It's not a starter version is it?

Mark

Hi Mark

It's a copy of 2016 pro. I also ran repair function on it today, but that made no differnce.
I have same excel link problems on laptop with 2019 version.

When I link up QPL to the excel sheet - on the first race I get good linkage with activity as normal, but does not trigger bets on the race.
Then it just locks up and does not move onto the next race in the QPL.

Hi,

Ok, so the example spreadsheet that you mentioned doesn't have any place bets, it is just an example of moving to the next market using the Q2 cell.

So I assume you have added to it with your own bet placement.

Can you test the spreadsheet as is with making any changes to it to see if the moving to next market part works on your set up?

Once that is established then add to it.

Mark

Thats correct Mark. My own spreadsheets use this template, with some added code including calling a macro, which has worked and been stable over a long time.

This weekend I have downloaded a clean copy of the template sheet and reloaded 1.3.0.40 to re-test clean - It connects but stops at the first race.

On QPL I have UK +Irish Win selected with the folowing list of exclusions typed in the exclusion box

Gruss exclusion list:
TPB
PA
Hcap Hrd
Hcap Chs
NHF
Nursery
Hcap

I haven't yet tested the downloadsheet omitting these exclusions.

Hi Mark

I have tested the sheet stand alone now and agree it does link up and work across windows 8 to windows 10. I have done numerous re-installations and complete clean down at diffent IP addresses as I thought I had an office/excel problem at first. In fact I removed and re-installed office 2016 on one PC.

My previous posts I were placing the sheet into one of my bot workbooks. Then it doesn't work even though it is unchanged without any additional coding or linkage to other sheets.

So my situation is continuous Link activity reporting excel busy.

To b clear now on this:
The Next_Market_Trigger sheet does scroll through QPL for me when linked stand alone.
When placed in a workbook containing other vba code, but not linked to other sheets, it does not work and stalls on race one.
(This is testing in workbook without any prior problems used daily)

I saw on another thread you would be issuing update next week dealing with some windows 7 issues. Will this have any effect on code which is now down using later or windows 10?

Thanks

Hi,

Excel triggered betting should not be affected by updates, albeit you may need to do a manual re-install.

If you can't get code to run then we can take a look to see what is happening but we would need to see a copy of the spreadsheet.

Hi Mark

After a lot of wasted efforts I am up and running again.
I resolved my problems eventually by stripping out Office 2016 (again!) and returning to 32bit version from 64bit.

In the end nothing to do with BA and above my pay grade to explain why the new version of office I loaded crashed me and I had to reload 32bit. But this may be useful to others using microsoft updates?

So thank you for your patience with my misleading posts!

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
