LAYFIELD

Postby vanbuuts » Tue Oct 08, 2019 1:55 pm

Hi, I have a excel sheet and have tried using the "LAYFIELD" function, I just get CANNOT_ACCEPT_BET in the reference which doesn;t give me much to go on.

I have stake and odds in all cells in R and S

Is it happening every time? Usually it's something simple like there's a non runner in your selections, exceeded your balance or the market's suspended etc

Gary / Mark are you able to advise on LAYFIELD? I can;t get it to work at all?

I have tried with LAYFIELD and stake and odds for just one line = CANNOT_ACCEPT_BET

I have tried with it in every line = CANNOT_ACCEPT_BET

How does this function work?

Just a thought...
Would the liability be under £10 for one of the horses in the field.
Betfair wouldn't accept the bet for that horse and maybe reject the whole transaction.

Hi Stu, yes it would as I’m only in experimental stage trying to set it up. I thought the £10 min only referes to SP betting, when I switch to straight lay - the bets are accepted, they just take too long to enter the market

The £10 min only refers to SP and only gets rejected from being reconciliation.

Have you tried simply trying to lay the field at 1.01 for £2 using the trigger? The trigger only needs to be placed against one horse and the stake/odds on the corresponding line.

Yep that’s pretty much exactly what I tried and get the CANNOT_ACCEPT_BET message

Hi,

Not sure why you would get CANNOT_ACCEPT_BET if you try to lay the field at 1.01 using £2 stakes.

The Diagnostic Log might have more information.

Go to the Options Menu and select 'Open Settings Folder'
Go into the Diagnostic Logs folder and find the log for the date where you tried to use the trigger, e.g. today's log would be called BA_Diagnostic-2019-10-13.log
Have a look in the Log using Notepad at the time when the trigger was used.

Regards,
Mark

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
