BSP custom columns

Postby Mr Frisk » Tue Sep 03, 2024 5:58 am

Hello,

I would like a place bets at Betfair SP using a custom column. Would it be possible to include this option in the next update please?

Many thanks.

I've lost count of the times I've asked for the persistence options to be added to the custom columns :? Hopefully now others are asking they might be added, fingers crossed.

I get the hint! I'll make it the next change I do.

Thanks for the quick turnaround Gary, I'll try it this afternoon. It'll save me so much time as I was continually having to change persistent types on bets before.

Hello Gary,

Thanks for the update, but what I was looking for was to have the option to select SP bet from the odds drop down menu.

With this current setup you have to select current odds or set specific odds in the drop down menu and that is then placed as an SP bet. However, I would like to link the SP column to some of my other columns but the problem is if I click one of those linked columns when the race is already in-play, the SP column places a bet at the odds set in the drop down menu, which is not an ideal situation.

If I was able to select SP bet in the drop down menu, I presume that no bet would be placed if the race has already gone in-play.

Many thanks for your help.

I've just tested it and the SP bet is rejected because SP bets are not allowed in play. Did you definitely use the SP bet option (not the SP In Play option) in the bet persistence options drop down? I will change it so it does not event attempt to place the bet in the next update.

Also when you select current odds and SP Bet in the persistence options then "current odds" can be interpreted as reading "SP".

Definitely SP bet in the bet persistence menu. I have just tested it again and it is just as I have described. If I click the column in-play, a bet is fired in at the selected price whether that is current odds or 1000.

It doesn't make sense. Can you install Version 1.3.2.8c

If it still places the bet in play then there must be another issue. Can you also test if it works before in play and places it as an actual SP bet.

It does place an SP bet as normal if I click before the race goes in-play.

The new version no longer places a bet if the race is in-play.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
