Thanks for sorting working a treat. I have another question.

Screenshot below is how i would like a custom column to be with a max liability of £20 going into the system, however when it goes in its going in at around 1/2 of the required liability. What am i doing wrong? Thanks

Might have figured it. Dont think i can have the offset odds by tick active. Once i reduce that to zero it worked fine?

It works ok for me with offset odds. Can you test it with "verify bet" ticked in the custom column settings? Does the liability in the bet placement popup show £20? You can test it like this anytime without placing a bet as you can just exit instead of placing the bet.

Also if you offset the odds by +22 ticks you are requesting to lay at higher odds than offered which means you are likely to get matched immediately at the best odds available.

eg. lay 10 liability @ 3.00. It will use £5 stake to create £10 liability. If the current best odds are 2.00 then you will be matched at 2.00 leaving you with £5 liability. I did not design it to make further bets until the full £10 liability is reached. Maybe this is where the misunderstanding is.

The issue seems to be the +22 odds. Set it like this in case of a spike in price. When i clicked verify bet, it seems to load ok, but when it actually places the bet it goes in different. So used £10 stakes as a test, it went into betfair with a liability of £6.97 instead of £10. I can just remove the +22 odds it shouldnt be a problem, if i feel im catching a spike etc, i can just increase the liability to match what i want it to be. So set it at £15 or something to get the desired figure.

It’s as I said it’s requesting higher odds than you get matched at and the stake is calculated on those higher odds. When you get matched at the best odds which are lower of course that same stake will produce a lower liability. It’s working as I designed it.

After reviewing Betfair's documentation I've discovered you can now request the API to convert stake to liability. I've added a tick box to enable this. This means you can request higher odds to ensure you get matched, but it will also match all the liability at best odds. It works well. I will release an update in the next few days after I have finished other changes I am working on.

I haven't removed the option. Have you ticked "Per click" by any chance? If so untick it.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
