Managing liabilities

Postby CURLEYKID » Thu Oct 31, 2024 9:24 pm

Hi everyone I posted the following in the suggestions section but no one responded so I will post it here. I would like to achieve the following:

On the custom columns you can set a stake at a default price. What I would like to do is to set a limit on how many times that bet can be placed in the market to a default setting of the users choice.

There is a massive temptation to just hit the custom columns button like a machine gun particularly during the closing stages of a race. Today just such an occurrence happened to me and the horse I backed got beaten in the last stride. If I can limit the amount of times that bet goes into the market then I can give myself a safeguard against a sudden rush to the head like I had today.

What I would like to know is, is there anyway the above can be achieved ?

I would be delighted to hear any suggestions if anyone can help.

Thank you.

You can set the maximum liability in Preferences|Staking

With the settings below for example it will be impossible to expose yourself to more than £50 liability in the current market.

I fixed an issue with this recently so please install Version 1.3.2.8g to use this feature.

Sports betting software from Gruss Software

The strength of Gruss Software is that it’s been designed by one of you, a frustrated sports punter, and then developed by listening to dozens of like-minded enthusiasts.

Gruss is owned and run by brothers Gary and Mark Russell. Gary discovered Betfair in 2004 and soon realised that using bespoke software to place bets was much more efficient than merely placing them through the website.

Gary built his own software and then enhanced its features after trialling it through other Betfair users and reacting to their improvement ideas, something that still happens today.

He started making a small monthly charge so he could work on it full-time and then recruited Mark to help develop the products and Gruss Software was born.

We think it’s the best of its kind and so do a lot of our customers. But you can never stand still in this game and we’ll continue to improve the software if any more great ideas emerge.
